Framing Workshop

The WTPSL will hold an informal workshop for photographers who would like to learn how to mount, mat, and frame their own prints, rather than taking their prints to a professional framing shop, or for those who would like to learn about alternatives before taking their prints to a framing shop.

Topics will be:
Size of the frame vs. size of the photograph
Position of the photograph within the frame
Types of frames and the advantages/disadvantages of each
Mounting methods (dry mounting, corners, other adhesives)
Types of mounting boards and mat boards
Cutting an overmat with a mat cutter or ordinary tools
Positioning the print squarely in the overmat
Assembling the frame
Affixing a wire hanger
